Research has been started in the area where weapons from the Middle Ages have been found

Archaeological study has been started in Patu, Rai Mandal area located in Bardibas Municipality-3 of Mahottari. With the fact that weapons (stone tools) used in ancient human history are found in the area, the municipality has started research to further highlight the importance of the area.

A team of experts from the Department of Archeology started researching the Patu Rai Mandal area from Saturday  Dipesh Kafle, member secretary of the municipality's culture and tourism promotion committee, informed.

He said that the municipality is coordinating a team of experts to study with the aim of promoting archaeological tourism in Bardibas and protecting historical and archaeological heritage. Archaeologist Bhaskar Gyawali and Dr. Manjeel Hazari The leadership team is currently collecting and studying the stone tools of Middle Pashan age in Patu, Ratu and Rai Mandal area located in Bardibas-3.

Bhaskar Gyawali said that in the next 10 days, observation, study and research of the area and the obtained tools will be done. He said that many researchers have researched the area and published reports and books, and the stone tools of the area have also been placed in the exhibition of the Department of Archeology, so a more detailed study of the area has been started.

In the 1980s, the German researcher Gooden Karvins studied human civilization in different parts of the Terai and published a book called 'Prehistoric Cultures in Nepal'. She has identified as the construction site. 

Along with him, the report of various researchers has defined Patu and Rai Mandal area as a place of special importance from the historical, archeological and tourist point of view of Bardibas Municipality. 

For the past few years, the discussion about the importance of the area has started . Under the leadership of the Bardibas Chamber of Commerce and Industry, various bodies of Bardibas began to explore the tourism potential, and the research work has started in the area from the tourism promotion budget that came to the Bardibas municipality.
