Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality of Saptari has installed transformers and master meters to free farmers from the problem of having to pay agricultural meters and bills for irrigation.

The municipality had been paying the bill for agricultural meters for three years. So far, 7 out of 14 wards, 7 master meters with 7 transformers have been installed and electricity is being supplied by Mayor Birendra Majhi. "There was a problem with running, some farmers here were not able to install agricultural meters due to the problem of land owner certificates," he said, "now there is no trouble for farmers to irrigate, electricity is flowing everywhere from the master meter for irrigation, and the municipality pays the bill for the master meter." has been brought. Under the plan which has been put forward in agreement with the Nepal Electricity Authority, the municipality plans to install transformers and master meters in other wards in the coming year.

There are a total of 51 thousand 926 families in the municipality and most of the families' daily life is based on agriculture.
