Ban on illegal mining in cowsheds

Gaushala municipality has banned the unauthorized extraction, collection and transportation of river products. The municipality issued a notice and banned the excavation and collection of river materials, stones, gravel, sand and soil from the rivers within the area of ​​Gaushala municipality until further orders.

It said that if any person is found to have entered the river with tipper, tractor, dozer for the purpose of excavation and collection of river products and mines, the vehicle will be confiscated. 

Chief Administrative Officer Keshav Kumar Adhikari said that if it is found that river materials are being mined, collected and transported, such vehicles and heavy equipment will be seized and fined according to the rules. It has warned that the business registration will be revoked.

After the crusher industries started illegal mining in the Maraha river in Gaushala, the Chief Administrative Officer issued a notice and alerted. Chief District Officer Narayan Prasad Risal alerted the local level administrative officers to monitor the excavation of river materials in the meeting of office heads held at the District Administration Office Mahottari on Wednesday.

Since then, it has been found that the police is protecting the crusher industry which is doing illegal mining in Marha river in Gaushala. District Coordination Committee chief Sumanlal Karna took control of the excavator that was excavating without taking permission and handed it over to the police, but the police handed over the excavator to the crusher industry with financial benefits.

The police office of Ela has not sent a letter to the municipality to take action against the excavator. The excavator that was put into action is still being used by Jaima Durga Living Center. Gaushala Municipality-10, Police Inspector Uttamsingh Bhandari of Ela Police Office Gaushala said that the excavator No. 2 and 20 which was used for illegal excavation in Maraha river without number plate has been sent to Gaushala Municipality for action.

During monitoring, the excavator was taken into custody while digging without permission in Maraha River. After removing the number plate of the digging excavator, the driver who was doing the digging ran away when he was interrogated. It has been found that illegal mining has been done up to 10 feet deep in Maraha river. 

The head of district coordination committee Mahottari said that the security agency became a witness when illegal mining was done in the crusher industry forest area, which is being operated on the banks of Marha river.
