Locals beat up the representative of Birgunj Drug Administration Department, representative of pharmacy, district administration Gaur representative, district police representative for monitoring.
Some members of the team were injured due to the beating.
After receiving information about the operation of a drug shop without permission, a team of Birganj Drug Administration Department reached Rajpur on Monday with the help of the local administration. The team started monitoring the local Nek Mahamad's drug store. Knowing that the monitoring team was there, Nek ran away from the back side of the pharmacy. At that time, DSP of the district police Deepak Kumar Rai informed that suddenly a group of 150 people including local women and men came and started a dispute with the monitoring team. Then the team was about to go.
According to the police, drug management department and pharmacy super manager Om Jaiswal, pharmacy officer Amar Sharma, Naib Subba Birendra Mahato, head of office Shambhu Sah, police inspector Rudra Kandel were injured due to the beating of locals. During the beating, local Sumintra Devi was also slightly injured, police said.
The injured were treated at the provincial hospital in Gaur. DSP Rai said that an investigation is being carried out regarding the involvement in the incident. Monday's beating incident went viral on social media on Tuesday. The video clearly shows the women's hulhujjat assaulting the monitoring team.
