15,000 tons of DAP fertilizer of the agricultural material company has been brought in through the Birganj channel in a period of one month. According to Durga Prasad Pandey, head of the company's Virgunj regional office, the cargo arrived at the railway rack on Wednesday from Kolkata, India.
A railway rack usually carries 2500 tons of fertilizer. Half of the total 6 racks have arrived across the border, 3 at Raxaul Indian Railway Station and 3 at Sirsia dry port.
Out of the total 15,000 tons of DAP, 6,000 tons of DAP have been stored in the warehouse of the regional office of Birgunj. The rest of the manure is being taken to Bhairahawa and Biratnagar regional offices. Birgunj office malls are arriving at Raxaul railway station and Biratnagar and Bhairahawa malls are arriving at Sirsia dry port.
Sun International Company got this fertilizer supply contract from global tender. Under this consignment of 25,000 tons of DAP fertilizer, 9,500 tons of fertilizer will be received by Birganj Regional Office. The remaining fertilizer will be received by Bhairahawa and Biratnagar regional offices.
Currently there is no demand for DAP fertilizer for the Chaite paddy crop, Pandey said that this consignment fertilizer will be useful for the next year's paddy crop season. The Madhesh regional office of the company has been carrying the responsibility of fertilizer mobilization in 16 districts including the districts of Madhesh province as well as Bagmati and Gandaki provinces. Pandey informed that urea fertilizer of
company will take more time to reach Nepal. He said that he has received the information that the consignment of 30,000 tons has arrived at Kolkata port. He said that if the urea fertilizer arrives on time, the demand of urea fertilizer for the coming Berkhebali season can be easily met.
