Mithila Municipality of Dhanusha has been locked down. People's representatives along with Deputy Chief Sunita Singh Budhathoki went into lockdown on Thursday saying that the city chief Mahendra Mahato was isolated. Deputy Chief Budhathoki said that the lockdown was imposed against the will of the mayor.

According to him, the mayor only implements his plan. She told that the lockdown was imposed with the support of 27 people's representatives because other important schemes were not allowed to be implemented. 5 ward presidents, 12 executive members, 9 ward members and one deputy head are jointly opposing the working style of the city head.  

'Majority is trying to rule alone by ignoring the people's representatives,' Deputy Chief Budhathoki said, 'They are not coordinating with any people's representatives. He is trying to run a single city like a family runs a house.

She said that the ward presidents were not even allowed to run the budget. "We asked the mayor and the chief administrative officer verbally and in writing why other plans were not allowed to operate," she said.

Even after 10 months of the financial year, he alleges that the city chief is not sensitive to the people. She said that people's representatives elected from outside the Congress have been neglected in terms of party. Deputy Chief Singh has filed a case in the Supreme Court saying that the Municipal Assembly of the year 2080/081 was not in accordance with the law. It is the statement of Deputy Chief Budhathoki that he was not allowed to work when the same case was not withdrawn.
