The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority has appealed to the Supreme Court against the verdict acquitted by a special court in a corruption case against three persons, including Umesh Prasad Yadav, chairman of Saptari's Bishnupur Rural Municipality.

The commission had filed a case in the special court claiming a fine of Rs. However, on 23rd Chait 2080, the court acquitted accountant Teknarayan Yadav and MIS operator Birendra Kumar Yadav along with chairman Yadav.

The spokesperson of the commission, Rajendra Kumar Paudel, informed through a statement that the decision was appealed to the Supreme Court on Thursday.  According to the

statement, they asked the consumer committee for the payment of the solar light installation work worth 2.5 million in the financial year 079/080 in Ward No. 6. After the Chairman of the Consumer Committee, Omprakash Yadav, informed the Ward President Parmanand Yadav about the demand for bribe, both of them jointly filed a complaint with the commission.

According to the complaint, the commission team deployed on 31st July 080 arrested Accountant Tek Narayan and MIS Operator Birendra Kumar from Rajviraj while accepting bribes of two lakhs in cash and three lakhs in checks. According to the statement, the case was filed after it was confirmed that Yadav, the chairman of the village municipality, had been invited to his house and negotiated bribes with audio/video evidence.
