The temporary kathe bridge of the Kamala river located on the border of Sirha and Dhanusha under the Hulaki road has been swept away by the flood. Kathepul in Kamala located in Sirha Municipality-6 was swept away by the flood that occurred on Tuesday morning.
Due to this, the traffic on the postal road has been stopped. Ward president Indrajit Kumar Yadav said that the pedestrians are taking risks from the ladder next to the bridge.
He says that there is a flood in the river now and he will think about what to do after the water recedes. 'Now there is a flood, we will think about what to do when the water subsides,' he said, 'we will not let it stay like this.'
This temporary Kathepul municipality was built 6 months ago at a cost of about 2 lakh rupees. Although the construction of the bridge over the Kamala river was started 13 years ago, it has not yet been completed. The work of the 469.2 meter long bridge started on 31st May 2068. However, this bridge, which reached the final stage of construction in 10 years due to time and time extension, was unable to withstand the normal flood on June 17, 2078.
After the bridge was washed away, reconstruction started again, but so far only the foundations of both sides of the bridge have been laid.
