Even after 9 months of the current fiscal year, the Rajviraj Customs Office has been able to collect only 55 percent of the target revenue. Last year, customs collected 86 percent of the target revenue by March.

Last year, the customs had set a target of collecting a total revenue of 65 million 34 thousand rupees. By March, it had collected a revenue of 5 million 62 million 2 thousand rupees, and by June, it had collected 124 percent of the target (8 million 7 million 47 thousand).

However, in the current financial year, the customs has been able to collect only 55 percent (4 crore 85 lakh 72 thousand 138) of the total revenue of Rs 881 lakh 79 thousand till March.

According to the data of the customs office, this year in July 38 lakh 88 thousand 824, in August 19 lakh 38 thousand 249, in October 68 lakh 46 thousand 215, in October 87 lakh 71 thousand 678 rupees have been collected.

Similarly, in November 51 lakh 26 thousand 709, in January 68 lakh 89 thousand 271, in January 33 lakh 44 thousand 378, in February 34 lakh 29 thousand 867 and in Chaitra 86 lakh 36 thousand 947 rupees have been collected.

Customs officer Satyanarayan Singh said that there is a decrease in revenue collection due to lack of bridge on the road connecting with India. "Due to India's non-clearance of customs to Nepal in January and February and theft at the border, there has been a decrease in revenue collection," he said, "but we are trying to meet the target."
