A father and daughter died when a car hit a motorcycle near West Lachka on the east-west highway in Chandrapur municipality-4 of Rautahat on Sunday. After the incident, the police arrested the car driver.

60-year-old Baliram Sahni of Garuda Municipality-3 Malahitol and his 40-year-old daughter Urmiladevi Sahni died in the accident, according to the local police office Chandranigahpur.

While going from home to Nijgarh, the motorcycle No. 3 P 9512 driven by Sahni was hit by a car No. 6 Ch 3526 coming from Hetaunda towards Chandranigahpur near Lachna in the morning . The police said that both of them, who were seriously injured in the accident, died during treatment.  

DSP Rajkumar Rai said that Baliram died during treatment at the Highway Trauma Center Hospital. DSP Rai said that the hit car and the driver, Kumar Pokhrel of Hetaunda sub-metropolitan city-12, were taken into custody. Urmiladevi was sent to LS Neuro Hospital Bara for further treatment and died during the treatment, police said.
