The number of malaria patients in the districts of Madhesh province has exceeded 100. Shravan Nayak, Director of Madhesh Province Health Directorate informed that the number of malaria infected has reached 120. According to him, 48 people have been infected the most in Sarlahi and two in Saptari the least.

He said that 22 malaria patients were found in Rautahat, 8 in Dhanusha, 6 in Mahottari, 14 in Bara and three in Parsa district. Among the infected, 89 are males above 15 years of age.

The government of Madhesh province has distributed medicated mosquito nets to 644 pregnant women to control malaria and 60,784 people have benefited from anti-malarial drugs.

If bitten by a female Anopheles mosquito, malaria occurs, he said. Doctors suggest that you should avoid mosquito bites, use mosquito nets regularly, and spray malaria-affected areas with medicine.
