Basic psychosocial counseling and support program was completed in Chandrapur on Friday. The event was organized in collaboration with World Vision International Nepal, Rural Development Center Nepal and Garuda and Madhavnarayan Municipalities.

29 representatives of the child protection sector, 14 from Garuda municipality and 15 from Madhavnarayan participated actively.

Child welfare officers of both municipalities, officials of the Child Rights Committee, teachers, health workers, representatives of children's networks, transformation facilitators participated in the program, Punam Roka of Rural Development Center Nepal informed. "It is expected that the program will make a significant contribution to raising awareness of psychosocial problems prevalent in the community and building an effective support system," she said, "Participants have suggested the program in all municipalities." Roka says .

The program was facilitated by psychosocial counselors trained by the World Health Organization. The participants said that there is a need for such training in all municipalities of the district. The training, conducted through a fully participatory method, included exercises such as discussion, brainstorming, role playing, relaxation exercises and personal presentations.
