The body of a child was found in the Chadi River in Garuda Municipality-8 of Rautahat late on Thursday evening. The body of 14-year-old Krishna Prasad Yadav of Vrindavan Municipality-7, who had been missing for five days, was lying in the water. The police informed about the incident on Friday.
Locals informed the police after seeing the body. After that, a team including DSP Rajan Karki of the local police Garuda reached the spot for investigation. "Looking at the nature of the body, it looks like duty-related murder," he said, "We are investigating." It will be found out soon whether it is murder or not.'
On the 6th of Baisakh, at 4 o'clock in the evening, Yadav left home on his own motorcycle saying that he was going back to the village. When he did not come till late at night, the family members searched. His parents had filed an application with the Garuda police to trace him who had disappeared along with his motorcycle.
The police suspect that the child may have been hit with a sharp weapon as deep wounds were seen on the child's stomach and neck. The motorcycle driven by Yadav has not been found yet. Police have informed that the body has been sent to primary health center Chandranigahpur for postmortem.
