There has been a demand for a national holiday on Janaki Navami. On Sunday, Ramanandiya Vaishnav Sangh held a press conference and made this demand.

Janaki Navami (birthday) is on 23rd Baisakh. Mahant Ramrosan Das, president of the association and assistant of Janaki Mandir, has submitted a memorandum to Ramuraj Kadaria, chief district officer of Dhanusha, demanding leave on that day. The state government has been giving holidays on Janaki Navami. However, Das, president of the association, said that Janaki (Sita) is not only the pride of the state but also the pride of the country and demanded a national holiday.

'Ram Navami is the pride of not only the state but also the country. It should be celebrated as a national festival," he said. "A national holiday should also be given." He argues that by giving a national holiday on Janaki Navami, the government should connect it with tourists.

Sadhu Samaj is preparing to celebrate Janaki Navami for 9 days this year. On the first day, take a royal bath in the Dudhmati river  Mahanth Das informed that Ramayana recitation and Ramakatha will be performed every day. According to him, the religious guru will discuss about Ram and Sita in Ramkatha. Janma Aarti, Sandhya Aarti and lamp lighting are scheduled on the main day. On the occasion of Janaki Navami, the math temple is also preparing to celebrate Janaki Navami by organizing a seminar.
