One person has been arrested with a large quantity of narcotic marijuana from Chure area of Sarlahi. 25-year-old Sushil Chaudhary of Lalbandi Municipality-1 Nawalpur was arrested by the police with 244 kilos of marijuana.
A pick-up vehicle number 1782 coming from Marin in Sindhuli to Lalbandi in Sarlahi was checked at Lalbandi Municipality-13 Patharkot.
Chowdhury was arrested with 45 bags of marijuana, which he was bringing hidden under a sack of chaff, informed Sujan Pathak, police inspector of the area police office, Lalbandi. According to him, Chaudhary was detained based on the information that ganja was being trafficked. The police said that Chaudhary, who was arrested with marijuana, is being investigated further.
Ganja is being cultivated commercially in Chure area of Sindhuli and Sarlahi. The main market for the hemp produced there is the Indian border district. In some cases, the ganja smugglers have hidden the eyes of the police and secretly brought them to the border.
