Demonstration again in violation of prohibition in Birganj

During the Hanuman Jayanti procession, some youths protested again on Wednesday morning, demanding the release of two people who were arrested on the charge of vandalism in Birganj on Saturday.

On Tuesday, Parsa police arrested 4 people on charges of disturbing religious harmony and vandalism. Demanding the immediate release of the two persons who were arrested, youths staged a demonstration by burning tires at Parwanipur, Pratima Chowk, Ghadiarwa Chowk, in front of National Trading and other places in Birganj on Wednesday. After the

incident, Parsa Police has tightened security in the area. In violation of the prohibition order issued by the district administration office to prevent gatherings, demonstrations, etc., demonstrations were held in Birgunj for the second consecutive day on Tuesday evening and on Wednesday as well. 

On Tuesday evening, the police charged those who tried to sit in front of the district police office with sticks. From there, they protested by burning tires in Ghantaghar, Adarshnagar Chowk area. 

The police arrested 4 people on Tuesday for their involvement in Saturday's incident. Superintendent of Police Gautam Mishra has said that 4 people found guilty in the incident have been arrested according to the five-point agreement reached in the all-party all-party meeting. 

Parsa Police Spokesperson DSP Kishore Lamsal said on Wednesday that one more person was arrested for his involvement in Saturday's incident. The Chief District Officer of Parsa, Ganesh Aryal, said that the discussion with the leaders of the protesting youth has been started since 11:00 in the morning.
