The murder case of Armed Police Assistant Inspector (Asai) Thaman Wik has come up again today. The hearing of the case was held on Wednesday (today) in the 3rd bench of the High Court Janakpur.
The hearing will be held in the bench of Judges Narishwar Bhandari and Jagdish Ghimire. This case, in which Abhiram Sharma, the suspended MP of Madhes Province, is also a defendant, has been adjourned time and again.
Today, the 18th hearing of this case has been adjourned 9 times, not sent 4 times and ordered 4 times.
When Sharma was a state MP for the second term, the district court in Mahottari gave a verdict of life imprisonment. Then the state assembly suspended him on Baisakh 18 of last year.
Sharma, the former mayor of Jaleshwar Municipality Ramshankar Mishra, Suresh Pandey and Dhamendra Rai are the defendants. Sharma's father, Mahendra Sharma, who is currently on the absconding list, filed an appeal case against Mishra by his wife, Sangeeta Kumari Sharma, on May 9.
Similarly, on the 10th of Baisakh, in the case of Pandey, his daughter Priyanka Pandey and in the case of Rai, his brother-in-law Arvind Kumar Rai filed an appeal case.
The bench of Judge Balbhadra Bastola and Nar Bahadur Khadka ordered that all the cases be proceeded simultaneously. Since then, the scheduled appearance has been repeatedly postponed and not sent to watch.
During the second Madhesh movement, on August 25, 2072, Asai Vic was killed by an ambulance in Mahottari. In that case, on February 27, 2072, a case of murder against 28 people and a case of arson against 25 people was registered in the Mahottari District Court.
On 28th November 2080, the bench of Judge Uddhav Prasad Bhattarai acquitted CPN-UML federal MP Lakshmi Mahato Koiri but sentenced Abhiram Sharma to life imprisonment.
