The curfew imposed after Saturday's clash in Birganj has been lifted from 12 midnight on Sunday. During the procession of Hanuman Jayanti, the local administration imposed a curfew from 6:30 pm on Saturday after tension broke out between two groups in Birganj's Chhapkaiya area. The curfew was lifted after the all-party meeting agreed on five points.
In the all-party meeting held at the district administration office, it was agreed that a detailed investigation and action will be taken against those involved in the incident, all parties are fully committed to maintaining inter-religious harmony and tolerance, and all parties will support the legal action process, arrange for free treatment of the injured, and take the initiative of the administration to compensate for the destruction of physical property.
It has also been agreed not to display weapons in events such as pilgrimages and festivals held by religious and cultural sects. It has also been decided to monitor all the religious organizations and the schools/madrasas run by those organizations and bring them under the scope of action if found otherwise.

Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal, Parsa Chief of Nepal Police SP Gautam Mishra, Armed Police Chief SP Radheshyam Dhimal, National Investigation SP Dilip Singh, Colonel Nirajan Katuwal of Nepali Army participated from the security agencies. Before that, on Sunday morning, the all-party meeting declared three points of commitment and appealed to maintain harmony.
During the clashes, 41 people including security personnel and civilians were injured. Parsa police spokesperson DSP Kishore Lamsal informed that all of them have been discharged from the hospital. During the clash, one shop was completely damaged and another shop was partially damaged in Chhapkaiya area. Four motorcycles were burnt and four motorcycles were partially damaged. 85 people who were arrested on Sunday for curfew violation were released to their relatives on Sunday evening.
