Late leader Ram Narayan Mishra's protest has started over the Salik construction site. The protest was led by the Bajrang Yuva Club of Salik, which is being constructed in the Ganga Sagar Purva Deal of Janakpurdham.
The Ram Narayan Mishra Memorial Committee is building a salik with the help of Madhesh State Government 5 crore 74 lakh 96 thousand . However, the locals have protested and staged a dharna saying that the construction of Salik will destroy the historical structure. Locals are sitting on dharna next to the construction site . However, the work is also being done in a hurry .
Shivshankar Sah, a local and UML leader, said that he protested because the building was being built against the law. According to him, there is a provision to build any structure leaving 10 meters from the bottom of the pond. However, the deal of the pond and the road that has been in operation for years are being encroached upon and the construction of the salik has been opposed. "Salik of a qualified person should be made, there is no objection to it," he said, "but the place was not suitable." This historic place was not built in the past year. Making Gangasagar ugly is not acceptable to us.' 
President of Janakpurdham Industry and Commerce Association Surendra Bhandari warned that if the construction work does not stop, they will stage a protest. He also said that he has suggested to the government to build a salik at an alternative and suitable place. Let's make a decision by holding an all-party meeting. He has contributed a lot, more educational institutes and hospitals should be built in his name,' he said, 'but let's build them in a suitable place . This place is not suitable.' He said that the historical heritage pond is being washed in the name of Salik.
