A young woman who was riding a bicycle died after being hit by a truck in Haripurva of Sarlahi on Friday morning. His sister was injured in the accident.

According to the police, 17-year-old Anjali Kumari Mahato of Ishwarpur Municipality-13 was killed when a truck numbered Na5Kh 3858 hit a bicycle coming from the opposite direction at Mirchaiya Bazar in Haripurwa Municipality-9 under the Banke-Sangrampur road section.

His 15-year-old sister Pooja Kumari, who was sitting behind the bicycle, was injured. He is being treated at a local medical center. The truck involved in the accident and its driver, 31 -year-old Lakshman Vick of Hariwan Municipality-10 Taiwan Town, are under police custody.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Saroj Rai informed that the body of the deceased has been brought to Malangwa Provincial Hospital for post-mortem.
