The election of the new district working committee of CPN-UML in Siraha has been successful. The election of the new working committee has been successful as factions and sub-factions clashed in the district during the session.
UML secretary Raghuveer Mahaseth has one faction and standing committee member Leelanath Shrestha has another faction in Madhesh province. Not only in the province, but also in the eight districts, they have formed factions . The effect of which has also appeared in the Siraha convention.
Sirha is Shrestha's home district . Therefore, he wants to keep his confidant in the leadership of the working committee here . For which he has been trying to unanimously select the working committee for a long time .
However, the leaders of the other faction are not ready for this . They are on the stand that the leadership should be selected through elections following the democratic process. UML leader Phuleshwar Nayak said, "Someone trying to give leadership to their own man is hijacking the party. We want democracy within the party." However, leaders from another group, including outgoing state MP Ashok Yadav, are aspiring for the presidency.
