Rautahat police have arrested one person with one quintal of marijuana and weapons near Jholunge Bridge located in Ishanath Municipality-1.
The arrested person is 21-year-old Sawan Giri of Gaur Municipality-4 Tikulia. Police inspector Umashankar Prasad informed that a pistol and bullets were recovered from him.
The arrested Giri was released by the police on Tuesday. The police team was waiting for Gowda in the west side of Jholange bridge and found 4 people walking with plastic bags on their heads at night.
In front and behind, some people were providing security with torches. After seeing that he was carrying ganja towards India through the middle road of Kerabari on the west side of the bridge, the police turned on the torchlight to identify him. After that, those carrying Gaza threw away the sack and ran away.
While chasing, the police found Giri lying on the ground and took him into custody. The police recovered a pistol and bullets from him. Police Inspector Uma Shankar said that 4 sacks were found with Giri's mobile and at a distance of 50 meters from the place where he fell.
