Democratic Samajwadi Party (LOSP) has been elected as the leader of Madhesh Province parliamentary party of Nepal. Party president Mahanth Thakur gave Rain the responsibility of the leader of the state parliamentary party.
By sending a letter with Thakur's signature, LOSPA also informed about it to Madhesh Speaker Ramchandra Mandal on Monday.
Abhiram Sharma, who was the leader of the party earlier, was dismissed by the provincial assembly on 21st Baisakh after he was convicted in the Asai Thaman Vick murder case during the Madhesh movement. Since then, the post of LOSPA party leader was vacant. In the letter sent by President Thakur to the Provincial Assembly, it is mentioned that Raine has been nominated as the leader until further arrangements are made.
"According to the Interim Constitution of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party of Nepal, as per the First Amendment, it is requested with information on the nomination of Jainul Rain, a member of the Provincial Assembly, as the leader of the parliamentary party in the Madhesh Provincial Assembly until further arrangements," the letter states.
