In Terai Madhesh, the Chaite Chhath festival is overshadowed on Thursday. In the evening, the ghats were bustling with pilgrims and pilgrims. The fasting people, who ate apple bread on Wednesday evening, spent the whole day without water on Thursday and offered arghya to the setting sun at the ghats near their homes.

This year's Chaite Chhath festival will be completed by offering arghya to the rising sun on Friday morning. The fasting people offer arghya of coconut, banana, ginger etc. to the setting and rising sun in a bamboo spoon. A crowd of devotees and pilgrims has been seen at Ghadiarwa Pond, Ranighat and Ghats in Birganj.

In Terai, there are more fasting people on Katike Chhath than Chaite Chhath. Locals say that the number of people observing Chaite Chhath has also increased in the last few years. There is a religious belief that if you fast on Chhath, you will not get skin diseases, you will have a son, you will have good fortune, you will have happiness and prosperity in the family, and the members of the family will be protected from possible accidents.
