Rautahat police arrested a person with the goods brought from India by evading customs while checking the vehicle from the bus park located in Gaur municipality-4 on Wednesday. The police have started investigating whether the arrested person is a pesevaar smuggler or not.
The police said that while checking various vehicles at the bus park, they seized grocery store goods worth nearly 1 crore. P-2-03-001 J 131, 22-year-old driver Niraj Kumar Sah, resident of Katharia Municipality-5, was arrested while bringing the goods to the pick-up vehicle, said DSP Deepak Kumar Rai of the district police. "We are investigating whether the arrested driver is a rich driver or a trafficker," he said.
The goods were seized when the district police and subordinate police were jointly investigating the vehicle. In recent days, there has been an increase in goods being imported from India by evading customs. Poke and big smugglers used to import goods from across the country. The sight of poke smugglers bringing goods from the main gate of customs can be seen everyday.
