After the situation became tense, the police officer along with the CDO reached Birgunj Children's Reformatory

The situation became tense after the dependent child inmates protested and shouted slogans at the Children's Correctional Home in Birganj. For half an hour from 12 noon, they staged a demonstration with slogans from Bardali on the west side of the house.

On Monday, the Madhesh State Attorney General's office and on Tuesday morning, the officials from the District Public Prosecutor's office came and returned after questioning, the child prisoners were on the loose. They say that every day some official comes and understands their problems, but even their basic needs are not met.

Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal, Superintendent of Police Gautam Mishra, DSP Kishore Lamsal, DSP Devendra Bahadur Singh and other security officers of the Armed Police reached the correctional facility around 2 pm and heard the complaints of the child prisoners.

During that time, the juvenile detainees complained to the security officer that they were being held in the house. In addition to this, they complained that it was difficult to pass the time due to the lack of facilities such as study, music and language training at home.

With the rising heat, the 22-point demand letter, including the proper management of fans and drinking water, has been submitted to the head of the home administration a few days ago, and the child prisoners are complaining that they have not received any hearing. Solar lights, fans and gas fans, doors in toilets, emergency lights, mesh doors, coffee, pens, dustbins, coolers, bulbs, faucets, sand filters, etc. are demanded to be provided to them.

Superintendent of Police Mishra promised to take all possible measures to fulfill the demands of child prisoners as they are common.

Chief District Officer Ganesh Aryal promised that the demands of the minimum human needs at home will be addressed immediately. He also assured that he will fulfill almost all the demands of the house within a week.

Prazia Aryal also said that since the home is narrow, they are taking initiatives for the construction of a new children's correctional home building on a 3 bigha land in Parwanipur of Birgunj.  Krishna Prasad Sah, acting head of the

home, said that currently 127 child prisoners have to be kept in the home with a capacity of 50 people. There are 9 rooms in the house. According to the size of the room, from 7/8 people to 20/25 people are kept in one room.

Last year, the house became tense for a long time when two parties clashed. As it is the only juvenile correctional facility in Madhesh province, the number of juvenile prisoners is always high here.
