Judicial committee becoming jobless

The Judicial Committee, which came into existence with the practice of federalism, is now becoming jobless. In the period of 8 years, a total of 387 complaints have been registered in the judicial committee of Birganj metropolis. Out of them, 313 complaints have been decided. Currently, 74 old and new complaints are in the decision process.

In the first two years of the committee, there was a good attraction of the service users, but recently, it has been found that the attraction is decreasing . According to the committee's data, 126 complaints were registered in the first year of the committee's establishment (2074/075), all of which received their decision. 79 complaints were registered in 2075/076, all of them have been decided.

58 complaints were registered in 2076/077 and 12 in 2077/078, and all of them have been decided. 21 complaints were registered in 2078/079, of which 10 have been decided. 29 complaints were registered in 2079/080, of which 13 have been decided. 36 complaints were registered in 2080/81, out of which 6 have been decided . 25 complaints were registered in 2081/082, of which 9 have been decided .

This data indicates that the order of complaints registered in the committee is decreasing in recent years . Imtiaz Alam, the coordinator of Birganj Metropolitan City's Judicial Committee, said, "The committee hears only the cases according to subsection 1 and 2 of Section 47 of the Local Government Act of 2074." The

committee also resolves issues such as Alidhur, Dam, Kulo, Panighat distribution, loss of other's crops, grazing, grass, firewood, non-payment of wages, loss or loss of domesticated animals, non-nurture of senior citizens, non-care of minor children, non-honest eating or non-education. The

committee has received more complaints mainly about transactions and land disputes. Also, cases affecting other people's house, land or property like tree planting, draining water from the house are also registered in the committee. Advocate Dhan Bahadur Thapa, complaint administrator of the

committee, said, 'In the past, consumers used to come to the committee to complain about any kind of dispute, but recently, the number of complaints may have decreased after the committee adopted a policy of not accepting written applications based on vertical complaints or chits.'
