Madhesh Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh has closed a hospital in Janakpurdham, which is operating secretly, in defiance of the closure directive of the Ministry of Health and Population of Madhesh Province.

While returning to the official residence of the Chief Minister after laying the foundation stone of the academic building of the Madhesh Institute of Health Sciences, although an indefinite service closure board was hung at the main gate, when suspicious activity was seen around it, Chief Minister Singh was found to be admitting patients and providing healthcare services at Janakpur Sita Hospital Pvt.

Although the hospital posted a notice that the hospital is closed on the outside gate, Chief Minister Singh met five patients who were admitted and treated inside.

Madhu Mahato and Subhash Mukhia, who are operating the hospital illegally by coercion and subjugating the government agencies, have been detained by the police. Both of them have been kept in Dhanusha district police office.

The hospital, which did not have permission to operate the service and did not meet the minimum standards required for a hospital, was ordered to be closed by a team including Chief Minister Singh on January 26, 2016, by transferring the patients being treated in the hospital to another hospital.
