The Saptari police destroyed 24 quintals of 19.5 kg of ganja by publicly burning them on Friday. The district police office destroyed the marijuana in Khando Khola, Rajviraj municipality-15, Deuribharuwa, at the behest of the concerned parties.
According to Police Chief of District Police Office Saptari, Superintendent of Police Dakhendra Khatiwada, the marijuana was recovered from Rajviraj Municipality-9 Maleth on February 19th. Stating that further investigation is underway in the case of the seizure of ganja, he informed that the investigation has also been started based on the statement given by the arrested person.
Saptari police have also seized large quantities of marijuana from different places. On January 26, 7 quintals of 26 kilos of ganja were seized from Hulaki Highway located in Bode Barsain Municipality-3. On December 27, 6 quintals of 70 kg of ganja were seized from Balan Bihul Rural Municipality-1 Kamaldah, while on November 4, 17 quintals of 17 kg of ganja were seized from Belhi Chapena of Rajgarh Rural Municipality-4.
