A person who pretends to be a fake father to get Indian citizenship has been arrested in Siraha. Amanat Mian of Khoria Naraha Rural Municipality-3 was arrested by the police.
Mian was arrested from his home on Tuesday evening, Siraha police chief Superintendent of Police Ramesh Pandit informed. He said that a detailed investigation will be started on him from the Siraha District Court on Wednesday.
'After this matter came to us, we have proceeded with its investigation in a subtle way,' Pandit said, 'We will bring everyone involved in this matter under the scope of investigation and action.'
Citizenship to Indians in collusion, confusion in action
On the recommendation of Ward Office of Naraha Rural Municipality-3, District Administration Office, Siraha gave Nepali citizenship to Indian citizen Mostak Mian on June 26, 2080. Amanat Mian and his wife Razina Khatun became fake parents.
However, after Kantipur published the news with the fact that no action has been taken on this matter so far, this matter was also raised in the Parliament. MP Rajkishore Yadav had objected saying that he was being protected because the ward president was from the ruling UML.
