Aiming at the Holi festival, when the administration monitored the meat shops in Birganj on Thursday, it was found that more than 50 percent of the shops were operating without a license.

After widespread public complaints that the meat traders have voluntarily increased the price, the joint market monitoring team under the leadership of the district administration office has monitored the meat shops of Birganj on Thursday.  

During the on-site monitoring conducted under the leadership of Assistant Chief District Officer Nishan Raj Gautam, it has been found that more than 50 percent of the meat shops are operating without a license. Similarly, it has been found that most of the meat shops do not keep a price list. 

The monitoring team monitored 9 meat shops operating in Murlichowk, Radhemai, Chandal Chowk, Ramgarhwa, Chhapkaiya etc.   Meat shops have been instructed not to raise prices arbitrarily, to keep a price list, to sell and distribute clean and healthy meat.
