Not being able to preserve the proud past is sad: Former President Yadav

First President of Nepal Dr. Ramvaran Yadav said that Madhesh has a proud history in the field of education. He said this while addressing a program organized on the occasion of the 115th International Women's Day at Madar in Siraha on Saturday.

He also said that at one time the district of Madhesh was the center of education. 'Madhesh was once a center of education, there were skilled teachers of Sanskrit, mathematics, science, Hindi and other subjects in the district,' he said, 'but it is very sad that we are not able to preserve this proud past.'

He also said that even though the government has changed many times in the country, the society has not been able to move forward because no one has thought about quality education. He said that the political leadership should take the blame for not being able to have an educational revolution even though the system has changed due to repeated revolutions in the country. 'Education is the basic foundation of social revolution,' he said, 'but, because we are not serious about it, the society could not move forward, we have to take the blame for it.'

Yadav said that the state should take education and health seriously to advance the society while strengthening the democratic system. Similarly, he also expressed his concern that the destruction of Chure in Madhesh has not been stopped.
