On Saturday, the police arrested a person in Garuda Municipality-8 Birtachok of Rautahat on the charge of extorting money from locals saying 'I am a traveling policeman'.

DSP Deepak Kumar Rai informed that 44-year-old Sheikh Sadre Alam, a resident of Birta, was arrested by a team deployed from Birta Chowki. DSP Rai said that Alam was arrested after receiving a tip-off that he was stopping farmers' fertilizer and asking for money claiming to be a vagrant from the district police. "We will know after the investigation that since when Alam has been deceiving the police," he said. The reason for cheating is also revealed.' 

The police say that Alam extorts money by showing fear. The police have detained Alam and started questioning.
