Chairman of CPN Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal has expressed support in the construction of Bhithamod dry port in Mahottari.
After inspecting the dry port construction site on the Indian border, Dahal, while understanding the memorandum of the Jaleshwar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, informed that when he was the Prime Minister, he had given instructions to the relevant agencies for the construction of the port, and promised to support the progress of the work.
Dahal says that although some work has already started, he will support the rest of the process. Chairman Dahal clarified that one of the objectives of the Maoist, Terai Madhes Awakening campaign with the people conducted by his party is to understand the situation of the people in the border region and take the initiative to advance possible development works, so this question will also be the agenda of the campaign.
While submitting the memorandum, the president of the association, Shivchandra Choudhary, informed that it is only 225 kilometers from Jaleshwar Customs in one way to import and export third country goods from Calcutta port.
In addition, he requested that 35 bighas of land for Manipal College be taken cheaply from the locals and left lying, so that the necessary coordination be started immediately.
