The vice-chancellor and registrar of Madhesh Agricultural University at Rajviraj in Saptari was dismissed on Tuesday midnight. University Vice-Chancellor Dr. Vaidyanath Mahato and Registrar Bhagwan Thakur have been dismissed.

The Madhesh Agricultural University Assembly held a meeting in a hotel in Janakpur till late on Tuesday and dismissed the Vice-Chancellor Dr. Mahato and the Registrar Bhagwan Thakur . It is arranged that the meeting of the University Assembly will be chaired by the Minister of Education and Culture and the Vice-Chancellor. In Tuesday night's meeting, Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh, who is also the chancellor of the university, was also invited as a special invitee.

In the presence of Chief Minister Singh, the meeting chaired by Madhesh Agricultural University Assembly President and Vice-Chancellor Education and Culture Minister Rani Sharma Tiwari decided to dismiss the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar. A member of the senate who participated in the meeting said that 9 of the 16 senate members of the Madhesh Agricultural University Assembly have signed in favor of the dismissal.

The university itself has recently become unstable when the political line of the officials and the government leadership differ. After the university made Jaspa Nepal President Upendra Yadav the chief guest for the foundation laying ceremony on 8th January 2080, Janmat Party has been dissatisfied with the Vice-Chancellor and Registrar. After the formation of the Madhesh state government under the leadership of the Janmat Party, vice-chancellor Mahato and registrar Thakur said that the vice-chairman of NITI Aayog had committed irregularities. An investigation committee was also formed under the leadership of Sohan Sah. Dr. Although the report was submitted by the investigation committee led by Shah, the report has not been formally made public. 

In the third session of the Provincial Assembly, the matter was sent to the Provincial Affairs Committee of the Provincial Assembly for investigation. Ratneshwar Goit, Chairman of the State Affairs Committee of the Madhesh State Assembly, said that the report has not yet arrived as the State Assembly gave the committee the responsibility to investigate the controversy on the foundation day.

The meeting of the university assembly on Tuesday has decided to approve the policy and program of the financial year 2081/82 and the proposed budget of 60 million 423 thousand for operating and 27 million 57 million for capital with 33 million 61 million 23 thousand with amendments . Out of which, 10 lakhs will be provided by the provincial government as a grant and 335 million 51 lakhs 23 thousand resources will be collected from the accumulated and internal income of the university .

Similarly, the Assembly has also decided to build a boundary wall and other necessary infrastructure for the protection of land under Rajviraj Municipality, which is owned by the Agricultural University, which is a proud project of Madhesh Province. It has also been decided to take necessary initiatives for the construction and development of the necessary physical infrastructures in the lands of various places which are currently being acquired, in coordination with various levels of government, non-governmental organizations and development partners to achieve the goals and objectives of the university. Likewise, a member of the Senate said that it has been decided to provide 10 percent of the starting salary monthly as a housing allowance to the teachers and employees until the university has its own building as prescribed by the provincial government.
