Tigers can be cared for at the rescue center in Nikunj

The concern of the Parsa National Park administration has increased after the tiger that entered the human settlement of Saptakoshi Municipality of Saptari was captured. There is talk of bringing the tiger to the rescue center of the park.

At present, the cage of the rescue center located in the office complex at Adhabhar in Nikunj has the capacity to keep only 2 tigers. According to the administration, the question of where to keep the third tiger has arisen as two tigers are already in cages.

According to Santosh Kumar Bhagat, conservation and information officer of the park office, there are 3 cages in the rescue center. He said that if the third cage is also filled with tigers, there will be problems in the cleanliness and management of all the cages.

"When cleaning one cage, you have to move the tiger to the empty cage and clean it," he said, "If all three cages are full, it is impossible to clean, in this case, the cage will smell bad and there will be difficulties in maintenance and management."

Bhagat says that as the number of tigers increases, the food budget for them will also be insufficient. "When the rescue center has a limited budget, it becomes a problem to feed them as more and more tigers are added," he said.

2 tigers were brought to the center 3 months ago. One of them was rescued from Makwanpur Manhari Rural Municipality-5 of the park. A woman died in the attack of this tiger. The park administration took the 8-year-old girl under control. It is estimated that this tiger, which has lost one beard, may have been injured during hunting.

Another tiger was rescued from the human settlement by the Chitwan National Park administration. This female is about 4 years old. Chitwan park administration sends them here after the rescue center of their park is full of tigers.

The park's scouts and game scouts take care of tigers. They should also do the work of cleaning the cage, arranging the treatment of injured and sick tigers and feeding the tigers daily.

Tigers kept in rescue centers are released back into their natural habitat. The permission of the department should be taken for this.

3 years ago, the number of adult tigers in Parsa Nikunj reached 41. The number of tigers is increasing every year due to the recent efforts made in the conservation area. Currently, it is estimated that the number of tigers in the park has increased. Even 13 years ago there were only 3 tigers in the park.
