The police have arrested 2 people involved in the smuggling of narcotic marijuana from separate places. Arjun Mahato, 19, of Parsa Patervasugauli rural municipality-4, Bhataura, and Aslam Ansari, 30, of Patervasugauli-1, were arrested.
Mahato was arrested by the team of the area police office Patervasugauli from the road section of Jirabwani rural municipality-3 Jitpur at 1 pm on Wednesday. Based on a special information, when the police team stopped and checked Mahato, a pedestrian who was coming from Naukatol towards Jitpur, they found 2 bags of narcotic marijuana weighing 23/23 kg in black plastic in both his hands. On Wednesday, a joint team deployed from Sabuj Gana Security Post Bhatha and area police office Patervasugauli arrested Ansari, a pedestrian who was coming from Bhata temple towards the hunter's habitat on the old Bhata road section within Patervasugauli-1 Parsa National Park area, with ganja.
When Ansari, who was suspiciously carrying a sack on his head, was checked, 30 kg of narcotic marijuana was found hidden in the sack. Parsa police held a press conference and made them public on Thursday.
Superintendent of Police Gautam Mishra informed that further investigation is underway for drug-related offenses against both of them.
