The state government has closed 17 private hospitals operating without registration in Janakpur, Birganj, Bardibas and Lalgarh of Madhesh province. The provincial government has also given instructions to close such hospitals and bring them under the government process.
Madhesh Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh inspected 40 private hospitals in Janakpur. It has been revealed that 15 of them are illegal.
According to Santosh Thakur, Public Health Officer of Madhesh State Ministry of Health, 15 private hospitals in Janakpur that do not meet government standards have been locked. Thakur said that 16 private hospitals in Janakpur were found to be operating without renovation. "In the 9 private hospitals of Janakpur that were closed, all the procedures are correct," he said. Similarly, Chief Minister Singh inspected 7 private hospitals in Birganj on Wednesday. Public Health Officer Thakur informed that the Nepal Indo Hospital and Eye Center, which was operating without registration, was closed. According to him, out of the 7 hospitals visited in Birganj, 1 has been closed and two private hospitals have not been renovated.
The Madhesh government has also monitored the private hospitals in Bardiwas in Mahottari and Lalgarh in Dhanusha. Among the two private hospitals in Lalgarh, Lalgarh Health Care was closed due to lack of registration and City Care Hospital in Bardiwas was found not to be renewed.
Chief Minister also at the casino
Chief Minister Singh, who suddenly arrived at the private hospital in Birganj on Wednesday, received a notice that Nepalis will also be allowed to visit the casino operating there. After learning that a Nepali citizen had lost 40 lakh rupees in a single night in the casino of Birganj, he went to the Kings Casino and Hotel Suraj in Lord's Dialo located in Adarsh Nagar in Birganj for monitoring.
Meanwhile, Parsa police have detained a Nepali citizen who was gambling in Hotel Suraj's casino. Since the records of those entering the casino are not in order, Chief Minister Singh has instructed both the casino managers of Birganj to come to the office of the Chief Minister and the Council of Ministers with a list of people entering the casino with their identity cards, one week's CCTV footage, details of employees and related documents.
