A supplementary complaint has been filed against 8 people in four cases in the gang rape and suspicious death of 17-year-old girl Rinkukumari Sada of Navrajpur rural municipality-1 Bhagwatipur of Siraha. The victim's family filed the complaint at the local police office, Lahan on Thursday.
According to the victim's family, a supplementary complaint has been filed under four headings, including forced killing, forced kidnapping, body hostage and settlement of transactions. In which three people involved in gang rape and 5 people who tried to reconcile in the village were punched and 8 people were booked. DSP Bishnu Prasad Soti, Chief of Police of Lahan, said that they have filed a supplementary complaint from the family of the
victim and a detailed investigation is being carried out on the incident. "We are doing a deep investigation on all the things that have come up regarding this incident," he said, "it will be easier for us now that the supplementary complaint has come."
Rinku, who went out to defecate on the night of last January 27, was gang-raped by three local youths. She reached home crying the next morning. However, with the involvement of local people including ward members, on 29th and 30th, an attempt was made to resolve the incident in the village by holding a Panchayat meeting.
The panchayat decided to pay a fine of 140,000 from the rapist and not to let the victim go to the police. However, the victim girl was found hanging dead in her house on the evening of 30th, amid threats from the perpetrators after the panchayat failed to meet.
