The Dalit Women's Association has said that it has drawn attention to the gang rape and suspicious death of a 17-year-old girl Rinku Kumari Sada of Navrajpur rural municipality-1 Bhagwatipur in Siraha. The association issued a statement on Tuesday and expressed its sorrow over the incident.
The union has mentioned in the statement that people's representatives and others have made a mockery of the legal system by trying to suppress the incident in the village by holding a panchayat in such a heinous crime incident and the police trying to weaken the case by putting pressure on the victim. Through the statement, it has been demanded that those involved in the incident be immediately arrested and brought under the scope of legal action and the victim's family should be given protection, proper relief and compensation.
Sada was gang-raped by three local youths when she went out to defecate on the night of last January 27. After that, the panchayat was held in the village to resolve the incident, but the girl was found hanging at home on the evening of 30th.
