Locals are sitting on a dharna at the Malpot office in Lahan, Siraha, demanding the release of village block land.

They have been protesting in stages since Sunday and sat on a dharna at the Malpot Office premises on Tuesday.

Lahan Municipality Deputy Mayor Ramchalitar Mahato, Ward President Ramesh Gautam and others are also present in the sit-in. Similarly, accountants have also stopped working in solidarity with the movement.

due to which the work of the Malport office has come to a standstill . They demand that arrangements should be made for land acquisition, surveying, red parts distribution, transfer of rights, sale and the right to use the land so that it can be kept in banks and financial institutions. 

They submitted a memorandum to Malpot, Napi, local administration and Lahan Municipality a few days ago. However, the coordinator of the Sangharsh Committee, Arun KC, said that they were forced to protest because no one took their problem seriously.
