Indu Shankar Sugar Industry has honored 47 sugarcane farmers who have produced advanced varieties of sugarcane with the use of modern methods and technology.

According to the general manager of the industry Yog Narayan Rajak, they have been honored with the aim of encouraging farmers in sugarcane production. 

Pawan Devi Sharma, a sugarcane farmer resident of Kisan Municipality-9, Bishnupur, said that the production of sugarcane has increased due to the use of seeds obtained from the industry and the cost has decreased due to the use of modern technology. In addition, the production has increased to 50 quintals per bushel. requested  He emphasized that the local, state and federal governments should maintain the sugarcane 'zone'.

Hariwan Mayor Ramesh Budhathoki informed that the municipality is planning to provide irrigation, technology and advanced seed vision for sugarcane farmers together with the industry. 

In Sarlahi, sugarcane has been produced in 64 thousand hectares every year. Indushankar in Hariwan, Annapurna in Dhankaul and Mahalakshmi sugar factories in Godaita are operating in the district.
