On the 10th of last year, Lokesh Shrestha, a local boy, was going home on his bicycle when he was blown away by a wind gust of a speeding tipper carrying limestone for the cement industry.
Lokesh, who fell on the highway, suffered a serious brain injury. Now he is being treated at a neuro hospital in Biratnagar. Since the
, the locals have started a protest. They have blocked the Mirchaiya-Katari highway in Mirchaiya Municipality-7, Chghare since Sunday morning.
More than five lakhs have been spent on Lokesh's treatment so far. Run Bahadur Shrestha, the father of Lokesh, who is being treated, said that the hospital asked for the same amount.
He says that he is facing problems in treatment due to his weak financial status. He applied to the police to search for the tipper involved in the incident.
But so far the police are not interested in finding the tipper and the driver, he said. More than 1000 tippers carry limestone on this highway daily.
Locals say that the speed of the tipper carrying heavy materials is uncontrollable. Locals have said that they have started a movement to pressurize to find the tipper and driver involved in Lokesh's incident.
