Gravel has been mined overnight in Siraha. Gravel was excavated from Chure Chaufal Satpatre Community Forest located in Golbazar Municipality-10 of Siraha. Bradarsh Construction, which is working on the construction of the 20 km Dharampur-Choharwa-Devipur-Vishnupur road under the federal government's budget, has revealed that it excavated in the forest on Friday night.
According to the local Bhim Bahadur Thapa, at night, the contractor company cut down about 70 sal trees of the forest using GSB and excavated gravel from there. He alleges that there is collusion from the forest committee, forest office, people's representatives to the administration.
'This is a robbery, it is not possible without everyone's cooperation,' he said to Kantipur, 'We appealed to the committee, the mayor, the police administration, but because no one listens, their collusion is confirmed.'
Locals have also seized a JCB that was mining gravel and handed it over to the police. According to Chief Police Inspector Govind Shah of Area Police Office, Golbazar, the JCB is now under police control and is ready to be handed over to Golbazar Municipality for necessary action. 
Locals have also filed a collective complaint at the Ward Office of Ward No. 10 to stop digging from now on and punish the culprits saying that it is the work of excavating forest masser gravel with the cooperation of everyone.
Ward president Upendra Mukhia informed that based on the complaints given by the locals, he has sent a letter from the ward to the relevant agencies to stop the excavation.
