Dharamshila Phuyal, who has been suffering from liver disease for the past 6 years, passed away on January 4, and now her family is upset. Husband Ram Phuyal of Dharamshila and his two daughters, who left their ancestral home in Sindhuli and were living in Namche, Sikkim, India, and their two daughters came to Bardiwas in Mahottari to seek refuge after the death of their mother.
While trying to save Dharamshila, the two girls who came to their relatives in Bardiwas with their father Ram, saying that they were done, are staying in the house of their mother. According to Hindu scriptures, after the death of the mother 10-year-old girl Aardhya Phuyal and 16-year-old Amiska stayed in Kazkiria for 13 days.
'Mother wanted us to do her work,' said Amiska, 'but many people requested us not to work, we stayed in work by our own will.'
Amiska said that although she wanted to cut her hair the way her sons did, she couldn't cut it after everyone scolded her . "Everyone thought it was strange when my daughter said to do kazkiriya," she said, "I also had the unpleasant experience of not supporting the ritual when the priest said that his daughters would stay in kiriya.'
Radha Neupane, a neighbor, said that after the priest who regularly attends rituals at the house of Ram's relatives in Bargachi Tol located in Bardiwas-1, said that he would not perform the rituals because his daughters were living in Kiriya, he found a new priest.
Tika Phuyal, the deceased's Deurani (teenager's aunt), said that even though the neighbors had advised them not to keep their daughters in Kazkiria, the daughters insisted on doing their mother's deeds themselves. She said that she is doing the work of helping her daughters and cooking bread herself.
On the one hand, the death of her mother and on the other hand, the protest that she had to endure while living in the ritual of death, the teenager said that she is very sad.
Father Ram Phuyal said that now after Kazkiria, he is worried about raising his daughters and how to educate them.
After spending all the money he earned in life, Ram said that after collecting donations and not being able to save his wife even after taking a loan, he now has nothing left but debt and pain. He said that he had spent nearly 70 lakh rupees on his wife's treatment including household expenses.
