The Rautahat police have arrested an Indian on the charge of extorting money from common people by displaying a fake pistol in the border area of Ishanath Municipality of Rautahat.
The Indian who was arrested on Monday night was released by the police on Wednesday. Abdul Kalam of Khaduhi Village Panchayat-4, Motihari District, Bihar, India, was arrested because he cheated the locals of Simavarti village by showing fake pistols, District Police Office Gaur Co-Spokesperson and Police Inspector Ram Kumar Mahato has informed.
Indian citizen Kalam was arrested by police station Mathia on Monday night near Ishanath-4 Mathiagaon, which is connected to the Indian border, and was demanding money from the general public by showing a fake toy pistol, the district police said. Prani Mahato said that a case has been registered against the arrested Kalam and investigation is underway.
