President of Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal, Upendra Yadav has laid wreaths on the memorial of martyrs including the first martyr of Madhesh movement, Ramesh Mahato.
On Saturday morning, Yadav laid wreath at Salik at Shaheed Chowk in Lahan. Along with him, Jaspa Vice President Rajkishore Yadav, Secretary Suresh Mandal and other leaders also laid wreaths.
Mahato is the first martyr of the Madhesh movement. During the protest, he was shot dead by the police on January 5, 2063. With this, the movement intensified.
Since then, Madhesh-centric parties including Jaspa have been celebrating the 5th of January every year as a day of sacrifice. On this day, those parties have also organized various programs.
