The local authorities of Rautahat have started to close Dhamamadh school after it started getting extremely cold in the last few days. As of Wednesday, most of the 18 local levels have closed schools for two days due to the cold.
Gaur, Ishanath, Chandrapur, Vrindavan, Fatuwavijaipur, Rajdevi, Yamunamai, Gonahidebahi municipalities of the district have closed schools till Friday 26th.
Gaur Municipality has closed schools in Gaur Nagar area for 3 days due to extreme cold, Chief Administrative Officer Subhash Thakur informed.
Dipendra Mandal, an officer of the education branch of Chandrapur municipality, said that the school had to be closed for two days after the growing cold started affecting the school children. The life of the district has been affected since the cold weather started. People have not been able to come out of the house.
Chief District Officer Hiralal Regmi has informed that it has been decided to distribute 700 blankets received from the Ministry of Home, Communications and Law, Janakpur and Middle East Pritna Headquarters Bardibas to the poor families through the municipality.
Division Forest Office has started distributing 20 pieces of firewood from Rautahat. Prazia Regmi said that 8/8 firewood will be distributed through District Police Office Rautahat and Armed Police 11 No. Gana, 2/2 through District Administration and Veer Dal Gana of Nepali Army.
