Madhes state government has arranged scholarships to increase women's access to higher education. Scholarships have been arranged for the daughters of the underprivileged and marginalized communities of the province to achieve higher education.

According to Madhes State Directorate of Education, scholarships will be provided to Dalit, Muslim, poor and Jehendar girls of the state.

Chief Minister Satish Kumar Singh said that the scholarship has been arranged with the aim of ensuring that Jehendar girls from marginalized and poor families are not deprived of higher education. He said that the directorate will complete the procedural work and scholarship will be given to the girl students.

scholarship will be given to Dalit, Muslim, disadvantaged and Jehendar students from all the eight districts of the state. The directorate said that 1,711 applications have been received for the scholarship. 25,000 and 35,000 will be provided annually for educational fees in two categories, general and technical. 

Rs 35 will be provided to those studying technical education and Rs 25,000 for humanities, commerce and education. The state government has allocated 15 million for scholarships in the current financial year. The condition of education in Madhes is poor compared to other provinces.

According to the National Census, 2078, the literacy rate of Madhes is 63.5 percent and  Women's Literacy  43.2 percent.
