Two youths died when a tractor carrying sugarcane and a motorcycle collided late on Monday night at Shanti Chowk in Murtia, Barathawa Municipality-9 of Sarlahi under Nayaroad-Madhuvani road.
Tractor No. J1 9876 carrying sugarcane from Balra towards Hariwan Sugar Mill and Motorcycle No. J4P 377 coming from the opposite direction collided with each other. The motorcyclist Harindra Mahato, 25 years old resident of Rajuchok, Barathawa Municipality-5, and Purushottam Das, 22 years old, who was riding behind the motorcycle, were killed. .
Harindra died at Advance Sanjivani Hospital Barathawa and Purushottam died at Biodha Hospital Birganj, according to the area police office Barathawa.
Police have arrested the tractor involved in the accident and its driver, 38-year-old Birendra Mahato, resident of Balra Municipality-7.
